Rapid Pump & Meter Service Co. was founded in 1960 as Rapid Meter Service Co. to service and repair flow meters.
Richard Taylor founded Machinery Services Co. in 1978 with a truck and toolbox in hand. Providing diverse electrical and mechanical services to a broad industry base, the company grew. In 1981 Machinery Services Co. moved to their present location in Paterson, New Jersey. This location is now the headquarters for The Rapid Group.
